What we collect
When you browse
- Server logs — Your host or CDN may log IP address, browser type, and pages requested. That’s normal for any website and is controlled by your hosting provider.
-
Theme preference — Light/dark mode is stored in your browser’s
localStorageunderblog-theme. It isn’t sent to us.
When you email us
We receive whatever you put in your message (name, email, text). We use it only to respond and don’t sell it to third parties.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. We keep this site mostly cookie-light:
- Strictly necessary — None required for basic reading today (recipes load as static pages).
-
Preferences — Theme choice via
localStorage(similar to a cookie; you can clear it in browser settings). - Advertising — Sidebar ad slots are reserved for future use. When enabled, ad partners may set cookies to measure impressions and limit repeat ads. We’ll update this section and, where required, ask for consent before non-essential cookies run.
- Analytics — Not active by default. If we add privacy-friendly analytics later, we’ll describe the tool here and honour opt-out where the law requires it.
Third-party services
- Fonts — Google Fonts may receive your IP when styles load. You can block third-party fonts in browser settings; the site will fall back to system fonts.
- Social links — Leaving the site for Instagram, Pinterest, or email opens those services’ own policies.
- Ad networks — Not connected yet. When they are, their privacy policies will apply to ad delivery and measurement.
Your choices
- Clear site data / cookies in your browser to reset theme and any future consent flags.
- Use a private window if you don’t want local preferences saved.
- Email us to ask what we hold about you or to request deletion of correspondence.
Children
This site is written for home bakers in general audiences. It isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We may update this page when we add ads, analytics, or new features. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
